![]() After weeks of waiting, September 29`th was finally here. The night of the Fish-gig in Oslo. My dream for years has been to meet Fish and this time my dream would come true. I sent an e-mail to Jane Findlay who is Fish`s personal assistant, asking if it would be possible to meet him during his gig in Oslo. I got an positive answer from Jane saying that Fish would like to meet me in Oslo. You know I fell of my chair when I read that e-mail. I was so lucky that I also got a photopass for the concert. The result you can take a look at here on my webpages. A couple of hours before the gig I met Fish for an interview backstage at the venue of the gig. The interview can be read here. It was really great talking to Fish, he is a great guy. After the interview I gave Fish a small present I had bought to him, and also a present for his daughter Tara. I gave Fish this small Norwegian Troll, and he was totally excited by it. During the gig he told the audience that he met a guy called Tor who gave him this Troll, and he made a great joke and a story about it before playing "Family Business". The gig this night was totally awesome, probably the greatest Fish-gig I have ever seen, and I have been to some. The opening song was "The Perception of Johnny Punter", a really energic and powerfull version with excellent guitarplaying from Robin Boult who has joined the band again. Mickey Simmonds is back too after several years. Mickey is a guy I really have been missing in this band, not that the other keyboard players who has been in this band has been bad, but Mickey is just awesome I think. Fish has not yet forgotten his Marillion career, he gave us "Assassing", "Fugazi", "White Feather" and "Lavender". He did a great medley , playing Assassing going over to excerpts from Fugazi, gliding over to White Feather and into Credo. It was sooooo great. He played some of my favourite tracks from his solo-career too. Being "Credo", "Cliche", "The Company" amongst others. The hole show and the songs he played was so grrrrrreat. My opinion is and has been for a while, Fish is better than Marillion. In my opinion no doubt about that. The gigs Fish are playing are so energic and great, there are non, absolutely non who can be compared with him. When I have been to a Fish-gig I feel so totally happy and satisfied for a long time afterwards. I must say that this time I really was happy, You know I got to meet him too. I can`t be thanking Jane Findlay and Fish enough making this dream come true. Here`s the set-list for this gig : -The Perception of Johnny Punter -What colour is God ? -Family Business -Goldfish & Clowns -Mr.1470 -Jungle Ride -Assassing -Credo -Tongues -Assassing/Fugazi/White Feather/Credo -Cliche -Brother 52 -Lucky Encores: -Internal Exile -The Company -A Gentleman`s Excuse Me -Lavender The gig lasted for 145 minutes. I have to mention that Mickey Simmonds did a great keyboard intro to A Gentleman`s Excuse Me, beginning with playing The Hall of The Mountain King. Fish mentioned that he might be back in Norway playing another gig in January 98, please do so. I will definetely be there.
